Show Notes

Today in La Voz with Mariel Fiori, Professor Martha Tepepa, from the Levy Institute of Economics at Bard College, talked about women in the economy and the still unresolved problem of the wage gap between men and women. And what about the immigrant woman? Tepepa said: "In 2018, half of the 258 million people who lived and worked outside their country of birth, that is 129 million migrant workers, were women. Although some migrant women have higher education degrees, postgraduate degrees and specialties, they face many obstacles in foreign markets. If to labor restrictions for migrants we add gender discrimination in the labor markets and the stereotypes associated with migrant women in the communities of labor-destination, we have a double and negative impact. "
