There is a community policing reform forum in Dutchess County, and Ken Roman, president of the county's policing modernization and reform collaborative, gave the details. Dutchess County has convened the Police Reform and Modernization Collaboration to work with municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to develop a proposal that will be distributed to its municipalities and law enforcement agencies. These virtual forums, facilitated by the Human Rights Commission, are an opportunity to make suggestions on how to improve the Dutchess Police. Tuesday, September 29: 10 - 11:30 a.m.; Thursday, October 1: 6 - 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 3: 3 - 4:30 p.m. are the forums with Spanish-language interpretation. Registration is required. Additionally, Juan Rosa, from the Civic Participation Fund, and Dorian Caal, director for the NALEO Educational Fund, the National Association of Latino Elected Officials and Nominees, spoke tabout the Latino vote and the more than 14 million Latinos who will vote in the presidential election this year.
