This week in La Voz en Breve, journalist Mariel Fiori has a very special show. Today we received in our studios Sandra Cisneros, the Chicana author of The House of Mango Street, Caramelo and other books, as part of the Big Read Hudson Valley events. In this hour-long show, Cisneros spoke intimately about her work and what influences her work. She also spend the afternoon in Kingston visiting the Kingston Library and receiving a proclamation from mayor Steven Noble as he renamed Franklin Street for Mango Street for the month of April. In the evening Cisneros gave a bilingual presentation at Bard College's Fisher Center, which was broadcast live by Radio Kingston and can be watched on its facebook page.
