NY Hero, work and solidarity

This week in La Voz en Breve, journalist Mariel Fiori has a show on politics and health. She spoke with New York State Assemblywoman for the 87th District, Karines Reyes, about the NY HERO bill, which would protect essential workers from retaliation for reporting violations in their workplace. Both Senator Hinchey and Assemblyman Cahill support the bill.

In their Dignity for Everyone column, Andrea Callan and Diana Saguilan, interim co-directors of the Center for Workers’ Justice discussed the organization’s direction for 2021 and the job opportunity available.

In addition, Gastón Robaina, an immigrant concerned about the unity of the community, spoke about how he has become involved with the problem of vandalism and hateful action against a message for black lives in the city of Kingston. Esta semana en La Voz en breve, la periodista Mariel Fiori tiene un programa de política y salud. Conversó con la asambleísta del estado de Nueva York para el Distrito 87, Karines Reyes, sobre el proyecto de ley NY HERO, que protegería a los trabajadores esenciales de represalias por informar violaciones en su lugar de trabajo.
