Show Notes

This week in La Voz en breve, journalist Mariel Fiori has a show on education, family and work!

Isis Benitez, a Poughkeepsie resident and member of the End the New Jim Crow Action Network, spoke about the tension between the city council and the police and the outcome of last Wednesday’s public meeting. Benitez says the police review commission has not taken into account the community’s main demand: that the police and local authorities be representative of the community they seek to serve. The Poughkeepsie Community Action Collaborative email is [email protected], they have meetings on Tuesday nights and Wednesday afternoons.

The New York State University, SUNY, offers the ATTAIN Workforce Development Technology program with 35 free labs and classes statewide. Julio Olaizola, project manager, gave more details.

And last but not least, the job knocks on the door of the Center for Creative Education in Kingston, and Maia Martinez explained what they’re looking for in young applicants.
